Curriculum
Master Of Public Health Study Program

The current curriculum in the FKM Unhas Master of Public Health Study Program is the 2021 curriculum with a total of 44 credits which must be completed within 4 semesters. The FKM Unhas Master of Public Health curriculum is made into two clusters for the 2021 curriculum, namely:

  • General Fundamental Course Cluster

This course is a mandatory university course provided by Unhas under the Technical Implementation Unit and is called General Courses (MKU). This course is presented in semester 1 for 10 credits.

  • Specialist Course Cluster

This course is available in semester 2 for 14 credits. Students study courses according to the department/specialization chosen. In semester 3 or 4, students take a series of final exams, journal publications and thesis exams with a total of 20 credits.

Courses in the specialization are courses that support the main competencies as a Master of Public Health. The following are the differences in competencies expected in each Department/Specialization:

Health Administration and Policy

  1. Able to review and analyze health planning and evaluation
  2. Able to develop and apply health economics
  3. Able to develop and apply human resource management in the health system
  4. Able to study and develop health policies
  5. Able to conduct studies on health management problems
  6. Able to develop and apply a health financing system
  7. Able to apply organizational behavior in health
  8. Able to apply Bargaining & Negotiation efforts
  9. Able to carry out integrated health quality management
  10. Able to study and apply skills in managing health insurance.

Epidemiology

  1. Able to solve problems using epidemiological research methods and advanced epidemiological data management
  2. Able to solve health problems by carrying out current epidemiological issues, and analysis and surveillance practicum.
  3. Able to solve health problems by taking an epidemiological approach to tropical diseases
  4. Able to make health plans in the field of epidemiology
  5. Able to solve health problems by conducting studies on epidemiology of maternal and child health, epidemiology of advanced non-communicable diseases, applied epidemiology, and field investigations
  6. Able to solve health problems by evaluating surveillance systems and evaluating health programs.

Health Promotion

  1. Able to carry out psychological studies and analysis and health counseling
  2. Able to conduct studies and analysis of behavioral research principles
  3. Able to conduct studies and analyzes of negotiation and partnership processes in health
  4. Able to carry out studies and analyzes in health promotion efforts in industrial workplaces

Reproduction health

  1. Able to plan and implement the Advanced Reproductive Health Epidemiology process
  2. Able to plan and implement efforts to control population problems, family planning and reproductive health
  3. Able to conduct research in the fields of population, family planning and reproductive health
  4. Able to implement and administer a reliable Health Information System through technology-based data collection, processing and analysis processes

Environmental Health

  1. Able to review and analyze environmental health program management
  2. Able to study and analyze environmental and public health risks
  3. Able to study and analyze medical waste management and processing technology
  4. Able to carry out planning efforts to control tropical disease vectors
  5. Able to conduct studies and analysis of environmental health research methods
  6. Able to plan Kesling management programs for Coastal and Island areas

The material presented is based on study materials from the Master of Public Health Study Program which have been adapted to developments in public health science. Therefore, study materials that are able to support the CPL that graduate profiles are expected to have are:
